Time to update the diaries. The dates and venues for the Classic Scramble Club 2010 Pre-75 Race & Recreation Calendar have been announced.

The 6 rounds making up the season are:

• Round 1 - 25th April (Anzac Day Spectacular) at Gerangamete
• Round 2 - 16th May at Harrow
• Round 3 - 13th June at Campbelltown
• Round 4 - 18th July at Lismore (day after AGM)
• Round 5 - 19th September at Gellibrand
• Round 6 - 17th October at Lismore

These dates and all others on the calendar can be found throughout the season on the blue menu on the right.

Mark your calendar – the Victorian Motorcycling Complex at Broadford will be the place to be at Easter this year.

One of the added bonuses available to those riders who will be racing the National Titles is that they will be able to practice on the actual track a week before the titles begin!

The 2010 Australian Classic Motocross Championship will be held as planned at Broadford MX track, April 9, 10 & 11 the week after the Honda Broadford Bike Bonanza. The Preston club will be running it and funnily enough, most of the officials and helpers were organizing the Aust MX Champs at the same venue back in 1984-1988.

I have inspected the track with MV Track Inspectors and the Manager Patrick Fletcher and gained approval for the earthworks to be started to run the track in reverse (clockwise) and have the jumps ramped or filled in and the main tabletop cut down into a simple drop off. The new layout will be premiered at the HBBB and give us plenty of time to get our bikes set up for it. The track will be vintage friendly and we are encouraged by the response from club members who are keen to get their pre 60 and 65 bikes out.

As the premier classic club in the state I know you will support the event and it will be great to show the other states the depth of talent and machinery we have. There will be no class combinations as the MA Board has approved lower numbers (6) to constitute a championship title class in pre 60 and 65. In fact, it would never have been a problem in Vic, just other states.

We are also negotiating with a couple of overseas stars to race there too, so stay tuned.
